Problem with the upgrade ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10

If your system will not detect new upgrades to ubuntu 10.10, you should edit a file in /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades. follow these steps....

1. open the file "release-upgrades" in  /etc/update-manager/
 with a suitable editor like gedit,vi or something else... in my case im using gedit

then you will see a line like 

Prompt=never;

or

Prompt=lts;

you must change it to 

Prompt=normal;



2. then save changes..

NOTE: 
  never  - Never check for a new release.

  normal - Check to see if a new release is...

How Upgrade Ubuntu 10.04 to Ubuntu 10.10 with the Terminal or GUI

You can upgrade ubuntu 10.04 to its latest version 10.10 with the terminal like this...



1. goto Terminal 
Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal


2. now give the command
    sudo apt-get install update-manager-core



3. then give the next command
    sudo do-release-upgrade



4.now your system will check for new upgrades and will ask to upgrade..
then
 enter y for upgrade
 enter N for cancel
 enter d for the details..
